RPM Scholarships

In the 2006-2007 school year, RPM continued its committment to serving the students of Thomas Jefferson by establishing the 4 A's College Scholarships. That year we awarded eight scholarships to graduating Thomas Jefferson seniors, two in each of the 4 A's: ACADEMICS, ACTIVITIES, ATHLETICS and the ARTS.

This year we are contining that tradition, awarding students that have excelled in the 4 A's. Students, that because of their committment, have made Thomas Jefferson the great school that it is. We are looking for students who truly have a dream of pursuing further education, whether it is through a 2 or 4 year college, vocational or trade school. The desire to go further, not necessarily the GPA will help determine our recipients.

4 A's College Scholarship

In early 2007 RPM lost a wonderful woman - Debbie Jahns. Debbie was instrumental to the establishment of the Raider Parent Movement serving as treasurer as well as other key positions and finally secretary during her time in RPM. She was not only involved in RPM and Thomas Jefferson but active in Girl Scouts, her church and many other community activites. It was because of Debbie's can do attitude that the Debbie Jahns Memorial Scholarship was established.

The Debbie Jahns Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a senior who has shown, not only participation in one or more 4 A's -Academics, Athletics, Activities & Arts, but also in the community.

Tim Landry Memorial Scholarship

Tim Landry was a student at Thomas Jefferson who graduated with the class of 2008.  Tim had a positive outlook and a solid work ethic.  In the classroom, he quietly did a good job at any task he was given.  When he participated in sports, Tim modeled sportsmanship and effort, cheering for his friends with as much enthusiasm as if he were himself the winner.  Tim was never a star athlete, nor was he the top of his class, but he was a model of great effort and attitude – quietly inspiring all of his peers.

There are kids who give their all to everything they do, yet never seem to distinguish themselves from the pack.  They are always in class.  They always do their homework.  They focus on being well-rounded, fearlessly trying different things – both sports and academics.  They are supportive and attentive to their peers, and they are respectful of their teachers and coaches.  They deserve notice.  They are deserving of a scholarship in Tim’s name.

Each year this scholarship honors two seniors with some or all of these qualities:

  • positive outlook
  • sports participant
  • asset to their class
  • lends a helping hand to peers

If you would like to donate to this scholarship or any of our scholarships ,please contact our treasurer.
